An album of art and photographs created by Ivan Hochar. It contains pictures of art and ethnographic information of the Poltava region, its people, and its culture. Part of a larger collection of volumes showing Ukraine and its people.
Made from potter’s clay, the tile depicts two deer facing each other surrounded by flowers and plants. The techniques used to create the tile include forming, painting, and watering. Tiles of this sort were both decorative and functional in nature.
A reproduction of a painting based on the image of a Cossack-bandurist, appears in the Museum Bulletin (Muzeǐnyǐ visnyk) no. 18 published in 2018. The Cossack-bandurist became the personification of the chivalrous Ukrainian Cossack spirit. Oil painting on canvas, 54 x 65 cm.
